The Occupation: Thor's Settlement
This is a remake of a project I had done almost 4 years ago. The original project started as a model of a medieval tower
and turned into a massive build which lasted 5 months. I just recently decided to redesign the scene as my Skills have grown since those days and my software has gone through a few updates. Thus size and scope of this project is huge, this is probably the biggest undertaking I have had yet, a completion time is well into 2008 so I will keep this page going and up to date.

This is the original scene done 4 years ago. The original design called for a dome to encompass the settlement but in doing the renders I thought it was a good idea to get rid of it. For some reason the settlement looked better with out the dome.
=>
The revision landscape and dome is 25% larger than the original and the method of landscape construction has improved.

<=
To produce the landscape I used the program Terragen and then imported the file into Lightwave for the construction. The size of this landscape is 9 square miles.
=>
This is a basic render of the landscape exterior and dome. I chose the Tessellated dome for structural reasons as this design adds strength to the structure and lessons the need for framework.

<=
Inside the dome I am building a terrain plate/platform, that will hold the structures that will eventually rest on the ground level. This image shows a basic idea of building placement .
=>
This is the final mesh for the lower level plate all of the domes first level buildings will rise up from here. The dome is going to have 3 levels at 600 ft each.

<=
The first building I constructed for the settlement was the Hyline Building.
=>
The hyline building complex is made up of 3 towers which are designated as commercial complexes. They stand 210ft tall and are 125 ft in diameter.

<=
The complex is located in the center section of the plate and is the the center of commerse for the settlement.
=>
Construction time for this building was 80 hourse from nuts to bolts, hopefully the rest will not take as long.
